2022 Hong Kong Ocular Surface Workshop
We are thrilled to be organizing the Hong Kong Ocular Surface Workshop for the 6th year running! The Ocular Surface Workshop is an annual event co-hosted by HKU Ophthalmology and CUHK DOVS. This year our focus is on recent updates on unusual infections of the cornea. We are very pleased to have Professor Vishal Jhanji of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Professor Vilvavun Puangsricharern of Chulalongkorn University Hopsital as our distinguished speakers.

Congratulations to Mr William Wong for being awarded the 2022 InnoTech Scholarship
Our department would like to send our warmest congratulations to Mr William Wong, MBBS and MRes (Med) Class of 2023 for being one of twenty five awardees for the 2022 Innovation and Technology Scholarship. The award was presented by the Hong Kong Chief Executive at a memorable ceremony on the 6th of June 2022.

Congratulations to Dr. Kendrick Co Shih for receiving the 2021 HKUMed Teaching Medal Award
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Kendrick Co Shih, Clinical Assistant Professor, was awarded the 2021 Teaching Medal from the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. Dr. Shih is the first from our young department to be selected as an awardee.

The inaugural HKU Ophthalmology Distinguished Lecture was held on the 15th of June 2021. We were honored to have Professor Walton Li, Medical Superintendent and Founding Head of Ophthalmology of the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital, as our orator.

Announcing the HKU Ophthalmology Distinguished Lecture Series
We are proud to announce the launch of the ‘HKU Ophthalmology Distinguished Lecture Series’. The quarterly lecture series will focus on four themes: (1) community ophthalmology, (2) ophthalmic education, (3) research advances, and (4) beyond ophthalmology. Each lecture will take one of the specific themes and feature a speaker of eminence within and outside ophthalmology and medicine to deliver a distinguished lecture in his/her area of excellence. We will host four exciting lectures per year.
