The 2021 annual meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) was held between May 1st – 7th. It is the biggest meeting in ophthalmology and visual sciences, and attracts over 11,000 attendees every year. A large number of our academic staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students participate each year hoping to gain valuable advice and ideas from peers and seniors in the field. This year, we are proud to share that our two PhD students Jessica Tsang and Yashan Bu were awarded the prestigious 2021 ARVO Travel Grants based on the quality of their research presentations. Jessica was awarded the 2021 ARVO International Travel Grant, while Yashan was awarded the 2021 ARVO Foundation Travel Grant. Both students were conducting research into managing important diabetic complications of the eye.
