Biography
Dr Victoria Wong is Associate Dean (Clinical Affairs) and Director of HKU Health System, the umbrella executive arm overseeing the clinical enterprises of the LKS Faculty of Medicine. She is also Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist at Grantham Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital.
Dr Wong obtained her MBBS at the University of Hong Kong in 1997 with Distinctions in Surgery and Health, Behaviour and Medical Care II and Mun Gold Medal in Psychiatry, and Master of Medical Sciences in 2003, specializing in Administrative Medicine with Distinction. Following her specialist training, Dr Wong was awarded the Ho Hung-Chiu Medical Education Foundation Scholarship to further undergo subspecialty training in cornea and external eye diseases at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining HKU, she was Consultant Ophthalmologist in Hong Kong Eye Hospital from 2011-2020, where she was Subspecialty Coordinator of Cornea & External Eye Diseases; and Coordinator of Cornea & External Eye Diseases of CUHK-HKEH Subspecialty Fellowship Training Program, and was awarded Best Service Provider in 2014. She was also Medical Director of the Hospital Authority Eye Bank which was awarded HA Outstanding Team 2017. She is an examiner for fellowship examinations for the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong. She also served as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Ophthalmological Society and Member of the HA Coordinating Committee in Ophthalmology. Dr Wong was Coordinator of the Cataract Program of Annual Congress of Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology and scientific program committee member of World Ophthalmology Congress, published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored 2 textbooks.
